CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND TRANSITON ASSESSMENT

The National Occupation Information Coordinating Committee defined Career Development as:

• The process through which an individual comes to understand themselves as they relate to the world of work and their role in it (National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee, 1992).

Assessment in this area is necessary to determine the student’s career maturity and knowledge of careers. Assessment data will help identify areas in which transition goals and activities can be written and ultimately assure positive measurable outcome transition goals.
